Essence of CHRISTmas

“Let’s sing Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday, this season may we never forget the LOVE we have for Jesus. Let him be the one to guide us, as another New Year starts and may the spirit of Christmas be always in our hearts…” makes a very good sense about Christmas.

Yuletide Season… Or what we are more familiar about as the “Christmas Season” is drawing near! Have you decided what gifts you would give? Who to give them to?

But wait! Is that what Christmas really is? I think NOT. If you come to your senses, it is the time when we are as one, regardless of the Nationality and whatsoever. Normally people would just waste their times on decorating their homes, preparing food and buying the gifts for people they love. Not so many think of giving their hearts up to God and letting his spirit come into that person’s soul. So now what? What am really trying to say, well, as for I have seen, the real essence of Christmas is becoming a blur, not many people understand what they are celebrating anymore.

As I saw from the internet about Santa Claus and Jesus, Jesus was sad because the people and kids remember Santa but not him, while in fact he should be the one who is the “BIDA” in that day. Christmas is not all about gifts and happiness, it is also about reminiscing the past, remember what Jesus did to us and be that reminder that god gave us another year, another chance to be better people and change for the better on the coming year.

Let us all make Christmas as a reminder that Jesus has stayed with us, made a change in us and he was the main reason why people are now given second chances and that they are forgiven of their mortal sins.

Life is short… Don’t dare make it shorter! Try to change for this year and be friendlier. Try changing for the better. Forgive who has done wrong to you, apologize to the people you’ve done wrong and most importantly, Forget the mistakes and be anew.

Changing... Climate??

A significant and lasting change in the numerical distribution of weather patterns over periods ranging from decades to millions of years. It may be a change in average weather conditions, or in the distribution of weather around the average conditions. It is caused by factors such as biotic processes, variations in solar radiation received by Earth, plate tectonics, and volcanic eruptions. Certain human activities have also been identified as significant causes of recent climate change, often referred to as "global warming".

But what is it that we are talking about? Do people really understand that meaning? I think not, but for my own opinion, CLIMATE CHANGE states itself, many people say that it is a change which occurs normally but I seem to have found a reason not to believe in such theories. I have a statement of my own (which does not need any bad comments) that Climate Change is a change wherein people are involved, they are the ones creating such chaotic outcomes, they are truly involved in such destruction, for me, it is really a fault of the humans, not just from the present but also from the past and to our coming future. Why you might ask? Well, it has been cleared in my head that these happenings do not just occur normally, they need negative pushes from the exterior world which in a few years or more will cause such calamities and otherwise such damage. If one must encounter such a big problem in life, all are encountering it; they say that it cannot be prevented anymore, well, of course not! It can only be cured by patience and such smart people to realize that there is still a cure; we can still do our best to make our home, Mother Earth, a better place to live in. But how? We can just do this by simply making our surroundings greener (not literally) and after years of effort and practice, then there will be such great results.

Knowing is not as good as understanding and studying it on your own…

Equal Rights, Equal Opportunity

Not all understand the importance of equality, some say that guys should be higher because they always were the ones handling the harder and much more difficult jobs, some say that the girls should be more superior because they are the ones who make the decisions, carry on what the harder parts in life has to offer, take good care of their homes while they do their jobs, they are also the ones who do multiple jobs and do not complain as much as the men do.

But wait! Are those enough reasons? Should that be what the people’s minds are on? Who deserves more respect? Who? We must think outside the box and know that NO ONE deserves better respect that the other! Both men and women deserve the same rights, opportunities, respects and everything else. Come to think of it, when we have equality in everything, none of us will be discriminated; none will be disrespected on anything that may occur in our lives. Think! Would that not be more amazing than what and how we are right now?

If we know how to balance things out, if we understand how equal rights and equal opportunities really mean then we shall not encounter such problems that may destroy one’s life and whatsoever.

We must always remember that thinking outside the box is the most appropriate thing to do, reminisce and take to heart that equality is what balances nature and every being in it.

English? A Language!

"Going Global through the English Language" is the theme for this year's English Month Celebration and a very self-explanatory one. (If you ask me)

So it says that we must or should use the English Language or what is even called the "Universal Language" to communicate with others. As we all know, this language is called the "Universal Language" for a certain reason, I think that the reason is that in the entire world (I mean this literally), it is a very useful language because this language is used and learned in every place and even small regions in this world

Now, can we reach the entire world with this language? This so called ENGLISH? I really think so, YES! Well, it is very clear, how can we go global if we use different languages to communicate with each other? We will not be able to understand each other. It is very understandable that English should be used.

So now, all we have to do is enhance our vocabularies, try to be more fluent and elegant, then we will have a better communication with other people all around the world.

Prepared for life...

Another two months have passed, more days conquered with the help of the people around and the help of my friends…

People have come and gone, many obstacles have been dominated upon, experience made and hoped to become the things that can be made as an inspiration to be the cause to empower me and mold me into being a better person and as a motivation to any person who will take the chances and risk for anything that can be the reasons why this is a better place to be in.

As this Second Grading Period has passed so easily, making me feel like it was just a flash, it seemed to me like many things have happened already yet many times I have wasted memories that could have been worthwhile. I was like the old me, being myself but then again I should have changed what my studying tactics are.

I have seen in myself that although there was almost no change, it was likely that I became happy with the things that I have done and made a huge impact on some people and even made a better person out of different people whom I just met. Thus, I have been a good model to some people who know me better and showed that I, myself, can be the reason why someone is very proud.

What has happened this grading, I don’t want to change, I am happy with it and I know that there would still be more of the good memories to come. It is just a matter of acceptance and readiness of a person to show that whatever may happen, I am prepared with life.

A Heroic Teacher

TEACHER? A Teacher is a person who teaches when you literally speak of it. Then again, what do we really know, right? Here I am again, asking but answering my own questions. Like almost every part of my blog, I do it.

They say that what a teacher does is simply teaching us and being there when we need information. But again, that is not all that they do, they have different works and errands to do just to justify and make sure to us that we are safe and that we become better people to our own kind. We are those kinds of people who are sometimes narrow-minded. Thus, we don’t realize how lucky we are to have them in our lives.

Our teachers are our friends, they are our second parents, with their busy schedule they are even strangers to us. We forget about them but disregarding all of those, we should know how much we mean to them, even if they get mad at us, even if they shout at us, even if they are mean at times, doesn't mean they don’t appreciate what we do, nevertheless we should show to them that they are important to us and that they mean almost the world to us.

MY TEACHERS ARE THE LIVING HEROES…

Scientists in the making

Science is a systematized body of knowledge based on facts. So is that understandable? I don’t think so. We should further explain this learning in school or by experiencing them.
Can you imagine a world where knowledge is limited? A world where you can’t find all the reasons you need? No? Honestly, I myself can never imagine that kind of world. Now? This is where science would enter, yes! Science may not be able to answer religious questions but they can answer scientifically almost anything. Science takes a lot of space in our world; it can determine whether or not why things exist and how they actually work. This must be one of the main reasons why we should continue to discover things at very young ages.
As a future product of Ilocos Sur National High School, I know that not only in the Science Class do teachers expand the knowledge of their student; it is also in the Regular and Math Classes that you can see the students concentrating on such subjects. Science Month is made to encourage the students to be more attentive in their classes and to enhance their skills to whatever life can offer them.

“Unravel the causes; build a solution, Empower Science Clubbers to action.” Well then we must know that problems and therefore know what solutions may be applied and help in the making and performing of those.

She's one heck of a mom!

It is very common for a kid to answer that their heroes are Dr. Jose P. Rizal, Andres Bonifacio, Emilio Aguinaldo and every person they have learned and discovered during their time of learning’s when they were young. Yes! They are partially right but there is a correction to be made, they should know that there are still other people that could be heroes, not only the well known ones but also these common people in our town.

Not many people know about Mrs. Yolly as my modern day hero because she is such a caring mother and she shows every bit of her life when she has the time. She is a working mother and wow! I just mean wow; I salute her for being one of the greatest working moms in the whole universe, not because she is my mom but because she has the capability to do so many things at once, it is like she is this all you can do machine that whatever you please, she makes or does it with no effort. It is like she makes it look like it is only a simple game of cards that you can win and understand, but when you actually do it, darn you’ll be surprised! You’ll admire her for how good she is. I also admire her for the same reason.

Yes, she is in fact my mother but that does not mean that it is the only reason why I adore her, I guess you’ll understand when you are in my shoes. Thus, this proves that people have different point of views in life but this should never be the basis to judge a person.

Wika, atin kayang gamitin?

Every day of our lives, do we find time to give importance to our own LANGUAGE? Are we even aware that our language is degrading because of our own doings? We are making our own nation degrade! As the theme says, “Wika natin ang daang matuwid” and I seem to understand now why they say so…

Then again, I must learn that this month is all about accepting what was really meant to be and for us to treasure it. In the near future, I will show the world that I am proud to be a Filipino and I am not ashamed to use my own language.

Face the World

For every day that passes, I seem to have learned somethings that I never expected I would. This Fourth Year of mine in Ilocos Sur National High School, I seem to have understood how life is more different than what I knew it would be. Who would ever expect that this year will be the most spectacular and somehow the most mysterious times of my life now that I am in high school.

Can life be any more difficult and head cracking than this? Yes, absolutely. Life can be more horrible than what I see now and this is about time for me to face the world and be a person with distinct honor and privilege. Most of the time now, students at young age have gadgets and social networking accounts instead of books and papers to write on. How is that so? Generation change, life is change. At first I felt like the Generation has left me but now? I know that it hasn’t because if it did, I could not do what I am able to do now. Who ever thought that I’d adapt to this new world? Yes, I have adapted myself already and it is fine time for everyone to instead of complaining about change. Why do I speak of that now? Well, that’s what I’ve learn as of this First grading. Life is always about change and that people should learn to accept it.

The only things keeping me from adjusting myself is the people around me. The ones who do not want change to enter in our lives, if only they can accept the fact that this is the way life is, they would be able to live a better life and maybe a better life than me.

Though they have been the ones keeping me from becoming a better person than who I am now. I kept in my mind that it should not be and that one day, they’ll be able to agree to what I have decided on my life.

Moving on... All I can say now is that I am trying to be a better person whether or not people try to dismay me. After all, this is still my life and they can only give comments on what I do but cannot dictate what I should really do.

State of the Nation Address or Promises?

The Fourth STATE OF THE NATION ADDRESS or what we call the SONA by President Benigno Simeon C. Aquino III last July 22, 2013, Monday at 3:00 pm. This is a yearly report on what has happened the past years, his plans that he made and the plans that he wants to launch.

The President says that he wants to finish all that he has started before his term ends. He stated in his speech that he focused on EDUCATION about the curriculum K-12 that it is very important and helpful to the new generation. Though more money would be used, they should first think about how better their future would be.

He also spoke about adding the sitio, the 4Ps- Pantawid Pamilya Pilipino Program, although some say that he should disregard that program for it does not lessen the number of poverty in the Philippines. Thus, if you really think of it, he said that he does not aim to lessen poverty but he only intends to lessen the sufferings of the Filipinos by giving them support every month as a start to a better life.

Then, he even talked about the increase of 0.06% of the SSS but then many disagreed to what he proposed because they say that the SSS can find other ways to increase their funds and money to help other people without increasing their pays to them. (This was taken from http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/focus/07/22/13/english-version-president-aquinos-sona-2013-full-text)

PNoy says 4.3-M foreign tourists visited the Philippines in 2012, a record-high and a 21.4% increase from 2010. Domestic travelers reached 37.5-M in 2012, breaching the original 2016 target of 35.5-M. He says he’s confident the country will achieve its new target of 56-M domestic tourists this year.

He cites his problems in the Bureau of Immigration, the National Irrigation Administration, (NIA) and Bureau of Customs. That's why he fired the chiefs of immigration and NIA. Now he did this because he said that if they really wanted to do their jobs, they could have proven it.

On my opinion about the SONA of our President, I just wish that he would really do his job because he only has one chance on that seat to prove to us that we never made a mistake to choose him as the leader of our country to help raise the Philippines up and to help the people stand on their own by becoming a good influence to us.

It is the State of the Nation Address, as much as possible he should not make it as the State of the Nation's Broken Promises. We all want a better country. Who doesn't?

"Kayo ang boss ko" he said and he should keep his word. Show us that there is still a chance for people to have high hopes, for those who's voices are unspoken.

HUNGER and MALNUTRITION? This must STOP!!

Starvation and malnutrition? These are already very common to our community and somehow it is very hard to put to a halt. Why? Well, if we really look at it, the whole nation, in every part of it, there will be people suffering from these sicknesses.

If only from the very first time, people have already, especially the politics, been trying to stop these problems, our generation now should not be suffering anymore. But why and who are they to blame? Why am I even blaming them if I can be one of the sources of the start of something new?

People are now suffering, not only the ones that are affected but also the people surrounding them. Because of the lack of knowledge and enthusiasm of people, this cancer of the nation cannot be easily solved. They are almost not trying anymore but they need to make efforts NOW before it is too LATE.

I have just been thinking and I somehow realized that we do not need to wait for the government to make a move. Why you may ask? Because if you really think of it, it will already be too late. It is just a matter of cognizance in the nutrition facts of our food. If our awareness are spread widely, we can prevent hunger and malnutrition to spread and occur.

The parents should also do something at the very moment they bear they babies and when they are born, they should have taught their children to eat green and every nutritious food so that they will be used to eating them. Thus, if we all try to do this, it will be easier and faster to solve the problems.

The government is not to blame, people should think if they are really doing their jobs or not, not every time will the government help us. We must learn to help ourselves for we are the start of something new and better. We are what we eat so we must know how to eat healthily and do what me must.

We should d it before it is too late. PREVENT it from happening before it is too late because PREVENTION is better than CURE.

A letter for the President for the betterment of our Country

June 25, 2013

Dear Mr. President,

A wonderful day to you sir! I hope when you are reading this, you are in good health.

Well sir, I just hope that you'll have the time to read my simple letter to you even with your busy schedule. I made this to tell you the things that are happening in our economy which is now degrading. I observe that there seems to be too much trash in our country because of improper waste disposal of our fellow Filipinos. Due to this problem, people are now more prone to diseases than before. If you could just contribute to the problem solving of the situation. Your people would dearly appreciate what you are doing for the betterment of our country.

People are even seen scattered all around and that should not be, how can we lend money to other countries yet we can't even help the Filipinos in need? Isn't that a bit of an irony sir? For me, you together with your politicians should prioritize us, your people to help lift up our country. Thus, your men are somehow doing the opposite, before you try to handle the whole nation, I suggest that you should start with your men first. If you fix your problems with those people, then it will be easier for you to be a better leaser than you are now.

But to be honest sir, I salute the way you lead. I am only suggesting of what you should do. I am not dictating nor correcting you sir. Children are your nations future right? So I am standing up now for my fellow children or teens to make a say on what happens. We help contribute to the nation’s future, so our opinions matter too. Right sir?

That's all I have to say to you sir. Thank you for reading my letter.

Sincerely yours,
DARLENE
