State of the Nation Address or Promises?

The Fourth STATE OF THE NATION ADDRESS or what we call the SONA by President Benigno Simeon C. Aquino III last July 22, 2013, Monday at 3:00 pm. This is a yearly report on what has happened the past years, his plans that he made and the plans that he wants to launch.

The President says that he wants to finish all that he has started before his term ends. He stated in his speech that he focused on EDUCATION about the curriculum K-12 that it is very important and helpful to the new generation. Though more money would be used, they should first think about how better their future would be.

He also spoke about adding the sitio, the 4Ps- Pantawid Pamilya Pilipino Program, although some say that he should disregard that program for it does not lessen the number of poverty in the Philippines. Thus, if you really think of it, he said that he does not aim to lessen poverty but he only intends to lessen the sufferings of the Filipinos by giving them support every month as a start to a better life.

Then, he even talked about the increase of 0.06% of the SSS but then many disagreed to what he proposed because they say that the SSS can find other ways to increase their funds and money to help other people without increasing their pays to them.           PNoy says 4.3-M foreign tourists visited the Philippines in 2012, a record-high and a 21.4% increase from 2010. Domestic travelers reached 37.5-M in 2012, breaching the original 2016 target of 35.5-M. He says he’s confident the country will achieve its new target of 56-M domestic tourists this year.

He cites his problems in the Bureau of Immigration, the National Irrigation Administration, (NIA) and Bureau of Customs. That's why he fired the chiefs of immigration and NIA. Now he did this because he said that if they really wanted to do their jobs, they could have proven it.

On my opinion about the SONA of our President, I just wish that he would really do his job because he only has one chance on that seat to prove to us that we never made a mistake to choose him as the leader of our country to help raise the Philippines up and to help the people stand on their own by becoming a good influence to us.

It is the State of the Nation Address, as much as possible he should not make it as the State of the Nation's Broken Promises. We all want a better country. Who doesn't?

"Kayo ang boss ko" he said and he should keep his word. Show us that there is still a chance for people to have high hopes, for those who's voices are unspoken.
